I live in mass accommodation and also get £37 a week for myself and my children. I’ve been in nass support since feb 2019 after I claim asylum.

Hello senu, I only send my new born son passport to the home office in February as he is British and they ask me for more of mind and my daughter medical evidence in may. I think I’d still have to wait for maybe 6 more months or earlier before they make decision because they’re really slow. I did not send any email for chase but after I send the evidence tomorrow and they don’t make a decision in two months then I’ll make complaint and chase up through solicitor and mp as it’ll have been around 1 year since I had main interview.
Also you can email them yourself (someone on this forum did few months ago) and apparently they’ll give you time frame.

Hello,
Thank you for your reply. I send my daughter's British citizen certificate last February and before that I sent bundle of evidence regarding my elder daughter's 7 years resident in UK October 2018. I used complaints email myself then they replied they will aim to make decision within six months but not guaranteed . before I complaint myself I contact the MP to do it behalf of me but HO didn't pass any useful information to MP only said they are working on it. so stressful cant understand why taking ages for making decision. even before covid 19 its very slow cant imagine how will be with this situation.

Wow!! That’s a very long time. The home office are seriously damaging people’s mental health with all this craziness. I guess I still have a long road ahead.

Hi senu,

I’ll keep you posted. I am on sub since 2019. You can always chase them regardless of the corona virus. We all know that the situation is even tougher then before but ho are working. There’s no harm in asking for an update regarding your case.

@Seni, all these lawyers are not helping us at time. Mine has been 2yrs plus now and my MP has contacted HO many times but they keep promising to decide soon. I have been 12yrs plus in uk and the waiting decision is holding me back as I can’t go to university after completing my HND which is really frustrating. I even told my lawyer many times to apply for right to work for me but she keeps telling me to leave them till when they’re ready to grant me. My first son born here is 8yrs plus and we’re all still waiting despite seeing I am victim of trafficking. It is really depressing and frustrating when we keep waiting for Years like this waiting for our life to move forward. We don’t need to give up on our dreams. Pls anybody that hear any update in this period should keep us inform so that it can keep our spirit high. God bless you all

Hi senu,

Call your solicitor to write a letter to the HO. Solicitors won’t know what the HO say unless you will contact them. I will keep you posted.

Hi senu,
You’re welcome. There’s no harm in asking HO for an update it won’t affect your case. Do it! :D it’s better to be proactive with your case as I heard with other people they just ignore it and they’re been waiting for years years and years. Lemme know please if your have any update.

Thanks

Hi Jay,
I'm agree with you but my solicitor keep telling me there will not be good response to chasing them now. before she doesn't want write to HO until six months of waiting from last update then now six months has been passed still she doesn't have interest to chase my claim. I have done everything whatever I can do to get update contacted the MP , sent complaint by myself but all of that wasn't useful. I'm going to contact my solicitor again regarding this tomorrow. Thank you for your reply. please keep us updating.
Hi Jay,

Thank you for sharing your experience its giving us boost. I did ask from my solicitors to write HO. I did sent email myself last Friday and got replied this morning which says they cant give timeline for my case or if they need any more information they will contact me.
hope you will hear something good from your solicitors soon.

Hi senu,

Call your solicitor to write a letter to the HO. Solicitors won’t know what the HO say unless you will contact them. I will keep you posted.

The HO replied to my solicitor today asking for update consent from me if they are still representing me. My solicitor sent the email Friday May 15th.

Senu did you speak to your solicitor for the chase letter?

Hi senu,

That’s great to hear! Hope you get a response soon. Did you apply for right to work too? I did my biometric on the day of my main interview which was August 2019. Have you had your main interview already?

Hi Jay,

I didn't had any interview for my further submission and didn't give biometric when submitting further submission. I can apply work right as I'm waiting for decision since around 20 months but I didn't done it as its only for shortage list works allow. I thought it will not much help for me. do you know how long around will they take response to solicitors. cant wait to hear from my solicitor. I believe HO will provide useful information to solicitor.

Hi senu,

Sorry I have no idea how long will it take for the HO to response, however I was surprised that they responded quickly when my solicitor sent an email last Friday. You can try to apply for right to work I know it’s tough as it’s only short listed job, but SOCIAL WORK is part of it. Try to do volunteering as well it will help your mind occupied. I am volunteering at refugee council. Try to find something as well that you can study I will start uni this October I was granted with scholarship.

Best of luck

I think it’s a good thing to always chase the home office up for decision if you already have British children or 7 years because you have nothing to loose. Otherwise they probably won’t even touch your file. But if you’re trying to waist time for child to be 7 year then you shouldn’t. We have all been waiting for a long time. I’ll get my lawyer to send many chase up email and even something I just came across called PAP if needed. I still have a long way to go looking at you guys timeline

Hi violet,

I totally agree with you. Take it from my experience if my solicitor didn’t send the email I wouldn’t know that they needed an updated legal consent from me for my solicitor. I applied asylum 2018. I am still married with my British husband. Keep us updated please.

Best wishes

Hi Violet,

you are right now I'm doing everything that I can do to chase them. before I was very patient because at that time I only had child born UK and lived more than 7 years which is 100% not guaranteed to get positive decision but once my second child registered as British citizen I believe now I have strong case than before so I'm trying to contact HO for update everyway that I could. already done many times only positive reply has came last march which saying they are aiming to make decision on my case within six months which should be by this September but I cant keep trust.

Hi Jay,
can you let me know if I apply work right is it only for a main applicant allow or dependant adult could get right too. I am thinking to apply work right but it will be useful for my husband than me if he allow too as he is qualifying for sort list jobs. for me I have 6 month old my youngest with 7 Years and 5 years kids so its hard to find time for work during now. if you know about it that dependant could get work right too then could you please let me know how did you apply work right.

Hi senu,
Unfortunately dependents are not allowed. Read below click on dependents. The best way for you is to call your solicitor and push them to send a chase letter to the HO.

Keep me posted.
Best of luck

Hello,
Unfortunately as Senu as pointed out, dependents aren’t allowed. I have an 19 year old son as my dependent who wanted to get part time job at university but I was told by my Solicitor’s that only main applicant can get right to work.
