Hi Tham you wouldn't have quit the care job, not every advice your solicitor give you that you will accept, solicitors are not home office but most time they want to be like home office, I remembered one of my old solicitor was telling me to see her as home office but she is not home office, If I have my way I will not go to these solicitors, most of them dosent mean well for us, care job is ok moreover that's the easiest job people can get. why not look for cleaning job or go back to the care work, I don't think Home office Will be upset with you for doing care work. Leave the judgment for home office not solicitor.thanks.

Hi Indu, wish you luck with your solicitor, when you go, make sure your solicitor send chase up message to home office, most time if you contact them on phone to do something they will accept to do it, but they will not do it because they don't care or they forgot.

She is preparing to take them to court for breaching the timescale she says so she wouldn't want the home office to use a little thing against me.

Hi Everyone,

I had my screening interview March 2019 and I have still not had my main interview. I sent a few complaints and they just responded with the standard letter telling me they will get in touch. I asked my lawyer to chase them and they sent me a preliminary information questionnaire end of Dec 2020. Has anyone had to fill this in and if so, what happened next and how long did it take to hear back from them? I am fed up of waiting.

Thanks in advance

Hi Rina, I hope you are okay. You need to fill that up and send it back to the home office. Attach any evidence as you could and just put what is the truth about your claim. Next step will be your substantive interview. Keep praying and God bless!

Thanks for your response. I sent it back to them in January. How long does it take to get an interview invitation?

Hello everyone,
Please for anybody that has had their fresh claim refused before, did the home office send you a refusal letter or just to your lawyer? My solicitor has just booked an appointment to speak with me in two weeks and I’m panicking. My application is 7 months now

Hi Laureen007, Home office can decide to send it to your solicitor without sending it to you, in some situation Home office Will send it to both you and your solicitor, hearing the word refused makes me sick and panicked, I guess your solicitor received a letter from home office that may be the reason He or she gave you appointment, but 2weeks is too far that means you have to be worried everyday until the day of your appointment, if you get refusal that means you don't have right of appeal because your solicitor have only 14days to appeal, I hope is good news for you,be strong. When did your solicitor contacted you? Is like Home office has fully resume.

I know it’s really hard to think about refusal, I just hope it’s something different. Because if it’s refusal why would she wait ti two weeks to tell me, even if she is busy, it’s just a phone appointment anyway so she could have texted or called me... oh well just have to wait and see, I pray God it’s something different tho.

It is highly likely that it is positive news like Stillwaiting2020 said. Some lawyers like to drag your case as much as possible in order to continue benefiting the legal aid lol.
anyways, figerscrossed

Hi laureen007
As a client you have every right to ask him/her the reason for the appointment. If he/ she has received any update from the home office and would like to talk about it.
I will suggest that you call back and ask for just the basis of the appointment by not going into details. So you can prepare yourself beforehand. And explain to them you are very worried and see what his/ her response would be.
Also I believe it's highly unlikely that a solicitor would withhold a bad information from you for 2weeks. You can take legal action against him/her.

Hi Indu, hope you are doing well, remember I told you that a chase up message was sent to Home office by my solicitor, He wrote a message and sent to 2 different departments in Home office, one replied within 3days saying my case has being prioritize, this week the second department replied within 15days saying that decision of my further submission has being scheduled by June, honestly I am tired of waiting . Have you receive any response from your solicitor? please don't allow your solicitor to make you crazy, my pass solicitors added to my depression, if I have my way I will beat them big time.after signing legal aid there voice will change, from bullies, ,liars upon liars, shouting upon shouting, removing some documents from my fresh claim bundle when I am about to go to Liverpool to submit.giving me appointment to come to office when I get there,I will realise that He or she is off ,not given me enough advice and many more.

She works in a firm and it’s the secretary that called me to book the appointment with my solicitor so that was why I couldn’t ask what it was about as the secretary didn’t say anything. Yeah I’m also hoping it’s not a refusal and she would keep it till the upper week to tell me when she could have just emailed, texted or called me directly. Phew so hard lol... it’s on Monday the 26th so just gotta wait I guess

Hi Laureen you have a right to ask the secretary the reason of booking appointment, I guess they received a letter from home office, I knew someone that got positive news from home office but his solicitor have to keep it for 2weeks before informing him and the reason he gave to the person was that he was busy, which I believe is not enough reason., If you are capable of waiting for that 2week that's fine it won't be long as for me I will ring back to know what the appointment is all about because it will increase my anxiety level, good luck to you
