Soon to expired BRP, do i need to renew?

Post by apiapiaba » Thu Jan 25, 2024 9:12 pm

My whole family BRP will be expire bynthe end of Dec 24 like everyone else. However somehow, my oldest daughter BRP is exp by the end of Feb'24. I just recently realise it as i thought everyone has the same expire date as they all issued at the same time. Do i need to extend it?? If i apply now, i might get it in April and I think it will expire in Dec as well. So I am wondering if i need to renew it or not. Is it ok to just wait until Jan'25?

Well, first of all, what visas do you have and what are the expiration dates if you do not hold ILR?
And does she plan to travel?

We don't have visa as we already hold settlement, our youngest already hold citizenship. I don't get it why my daughter's BRP exp date is diff with the rest if the family. Our ILR has no expire date. Only the BRP is the one that is expire. We have no plan on leaving Uk this year.

Did you apply for the older daughter's ILR? It's not an automatic process.
Does it state about her ILR in approval letter?

If it's a BRP error, it might be too late to report it, as I assume a long while has passed.

If she has ILR, she will not be an overstayer as ILR status doesn't expire, just card does, but might have issues proving right to work/etc.

Yes, she has ILR/settlement.
Will she has problem applying for the new format in Jan ?
She is still in primary school, so she won't work anytime soon

Consent from the home office

Post by apiapiaba » Sun Feb 25, 2024 4:37 pm

Hi everyone,

One of the documents that i need to submit for my 11 yrs old daughter's BRP is a consent form for the home office. I am afraid of making a mistake and not 100% sure about who and where to sign. So could you please help me to clarify this.

Am i right to assume :
Part 1 is my signature as my daughter is under 12 and i will be the one who accompany her
Part 2 and Part 3 is me and my husband. We provide bills/ proof of address under my name and his name, no joint account, or is it just me?

PART 1: Consent for the Home Office to verify application information
You (the applicant) should sign the Part 1 consent, and relevant other parties should sign Part 2 and 3, where they are relevant to your application. You must send them with your supporting documents If you fail to do, your application may be refused.
Where any of the information or documentation also relates to someone else (for example a joint bank account or joint utility bill) you should ask that person or persons to sign PART 2 of the consent form

PART 2: Consent for the Home Office to verify third party information
If any information or documentation provided n is in the joint names of the applicant and another person (or persons), the joint owner should sign the following declaration:
The above-named person (‘the applicant’) has given the Home Office information or documentation and agreed that the Home Office can check that such information or documentation is genuine and/or correct. I am a joint owner with the applicant of some or all of that information or documentation.

PART 3: Consent for the Home Office to verify information from third party sponsor
If the information or documentation relates to another person or persons who is to provide the applicant with financial support, that person or persons* should sign the following declaration:
I have agreed to provide financial support to the applicant as set out in the application form. I have provided information or documentation to support the application. I understand the Home Office may verify the information or documentation which has been provided.

A parent will sign both parts 1 and 2. Part 3 is ignored
