Application update..

Applied for TD after getting my ILR after 18 months wait.

Applied for TD in 3rd sept 2021

Successful email confirmation received yesterday.

Nearly 2 months.

I guess they balanced the excessive ILR waiting time on this one.

So after getting that reminder msg about sending your documents, it took a month to get it approved?
Maybe a pattern. I received the same email about a wk ago. lets see

Yes indeed, sounds like when you receive the email about your application
"Thank you for applying for a Home Office Travel Document in. If you have not posted in your photograph and supporting documents (if required), please do this as soon as possible or your application may be delayed."

it means they will start working on your application.

As I just received the approval email after 15 days of the above email.

TD on the way.

Application Update
Applied for new TD on 08/09/2021
Got emails on 25 successfully Application that the new TD will be with me within 7days and I will get tracking number from the delivery company very soon and if I don't get the TD within 9days I should contact them.

Applied for new TD on 08/09/2021
No acknowledgment letter , no acknowledgment emails, notting till exactly 2months then got an email from them ( 08/11/2022 ) . In the email they asked me to provide the passports on my files but I haven't got any passport the passport they were asking me to provide are with them because they seized them when I first arrived in UK at Heathrow Airport because I claimed asylum at Heathrow Airport and those passports were not mine ( long story )
I then replied the email and I explained everything also I sent a recorded letters explained everything but I also went to my MP . At first my MP didn't understand me She thought it was me asking for those passports back and I resent the Home Office emails and I explained again ( 15/11/2021 ) so I got emails on 25/11/2021 . Maybe contacting MP could help because Application for TD is not a complication issues the moment they took the file's out they will just deal with it. I was expecting 6 to 8 months because that's the average of most Applications now adays.
Good luck everyone

I don't think there are any, unless your original citizenship allows you to enter there visa free.

For example: if you are from Ghana with conventional travel document, you can enter Rwanda visa free because Ghanaian citizens can normally enter there visa free.

If you are from Africa, it is best to check visa free countries for your nationality, although some countries will ask for visa once they see that you have a refugee passport instead of your country's passport.

Thanks very much, I thought so
I'm from NIGERIA originally and I think I should be able to enter Republic of Benin but when I rang Benin Republic embassy they told me I need a visa because of refugee travel document but when I tried to apply for the visa on line the system says I don't need a visa because of Nigeria nationality. So its complicated.
Anyway I'm not in hurry or any emergency, maybe I should apply for British citizenship I'm well overdue
Thanks 👏

Hi,

I applied for TD back in March and received it couple days ago. It took HO almost 10 months to approve my TD which is kind of frustrating but i guess it is what it is.

Will be applying for Naturalisation in January so TD might not be used at all.

I’ve also applied back in March but still no response
Also I’ve emailed them yet no response.
Do you mind if you can tell if it was your renewal or first time. As my one was renewal
Thanks

It was a renewal as the previous one expired.

Applied as soon as i had my ilr approved and got email from them stating possible delay about 3 months ago.

Never emailed them and got the TD eventually.

So far, based on embassy website and other people's stories, here is the list I have made. Note that for some destinations it depends on which airline you use, some airlines are not aware that it is visa free.
  • Bulgaria
    Germany
    Iceland
    Finland
    Liechtenstein
    Lithuania
    Norway
    Switzerland
    Hungary
    Italy
    Luxembourg
    Slovenia
    Croatia

Hi
I am looking for advice about my issue.
I have applied Travel documents in August 21 and I have received a notification from Atlas home office which stated my application successful and I will receive the TD with in 10 days.
Unfortunately I did not receive it.I have sent email to Home office on 15th December 21 to notify this but no reply.
Again I sent another email on 17th Jan 22 but they reply which they said there was technical error and they send my TD soon as possible.
But I didn't receive my travel document yet.
I am very desperate as I require my TD for my Mortgage because I have to submit this TD with my Resident permit (BRP)
I am keep sending email to the travel document section but they did not response me.
Please advice me what should I do to get my travel document.
Thanks

Did you have any compassionate reason? Or just standard?
