hi everyone!
Mirna I know you from the set protection thread. when have you applied for ctd?
i think people above they are applying for the first time, cos some of them were called for the biometrics.
I applied on the 29 of January and got acknowledgment letter on the 1st or 2nd of the Feburary.
I have friend who applied last year (after he recieved ilr ) and got his in 2 weeks time. i wonder if any one in this thread, who was waiting for a long time, is applying after their first one has expierd?

hi tab0287! I applied on 23/01/2013. Do you think we going to do biometric again? When your friend applied?

hi mirna,
don't think so. we already have our biometrics. i am concerned with the processing time of the application because here we are basically renewing our expired tdc, why should it take that long. i am thinking maybe they don't want to give us ctd easily, on the letter representing biometric cards they mention you can travel with your national passport if you have one. do you think it might be delayed for that reason. in some ukba sites they say ctd is given in exeptional cases when you cannot obtain your national passport from your embassy. to prove that you have to send them written confirmation of refusal from your contries embassy. has anyone faced this sort of problem?

the friend i am talking about applied a year ago but the difference between us and him- on his biometric card it says refugee, we don't have this word on the card, does it mean they raised the status in new cases?

It is a FIR request to check how many CTDs have been issued by the UKBA since last year? they should reply within 30 days? Although I doubt it, but it is better to try and do something.
anybody with good news? I think they are not issuing any CTDs at the moment for some reasons? workload and what they call technical difficulties could not be the only reason. they might be planning something else.
does anybody (experienced members) know what would happen if you requested your original docs back and kept your application if this possible? I really need my documents for a job interview in 22 days? Not sure if I can use the UKBA letter as evidence of status and application?

Great kUJ Congratulations. Loooong wait is over then.
My brother, who applied for in Nov 2012, received his travel doc and BRP last week. Also friend of mine, who applied for Feb 2012, received his travel doc yesterday. Hopefully ours will be received soon.
I am still waiting for mine. It's been 8 months now.
Has anyone else heard from UKBA? Pls share your experience.

Guys,
I have applied to exchange my TD after ILR. Application has been sent on 21st of January, receipt - 27th January. No news since...
It is rather scary to read the posts with 11 months waiting time. It is worrying...
Has anyone else exchanged the TDs or are all of you new applicants?

Hi Folks,
I know some of you from Set (protection route) application thread.
Finally after 8 months of stressful waiting I got my ILR.
Now do I apply for Travel Document or not? kUJ took him/her 11 months to get his, what is the point to get this and then in a month time I could apply for naturalisation ?
Has anyone applied for naturalisation through "discretion to disregard immigration time restrictions" ? I waited 8 months, does this mean I could wait 4 months and could apply for naturalisation ? or ?? please if anyone already investigated this could feedback me. The paragraph below clearly states that the waiting time is considered part of the 12 months free of immigration restrictions.
7.5 Discretion to disregard immigration time restrictions in the final 12
months may normally be exercised if:
a. at the date of application, the applicant has had less than 12
months free of conditions but has been free of conditions for
more than 12 months by the time the application is considered,
provided the other requirements are met.

Hi Doodoo,
Very glad to hear you've got ur docs, congradts!!! I was checking thread especially for you.
I also applied to renew my TD but no news yet. nowdays it seems there is a problem with issuing TDs. I don't now anything about discretion time and doubt if it will be issued earlier than the normal timeframe can take us to get through naturalisation process. I was hoping to get TD within 2 months max (thats how long it took me to get it last time).
Anyway still haven't lost my hope, maybe beacuse we have our BRPs already Decision will be made earlier. 1,5 month past since I applied, lets see what happens.

Hi tab0287,
Thank you .
I don't know what to do to be honest regarding the travel document. I need to visit somefamily in Europe as matter of emergency but what can I do !
Anyway, I am thinking to speak to solicitor first and ask him what he suggests.

I wrote to the ukba because my son ILR application was 20-04-12
and the ILR issue 22-09-12
but the BRP expiry date 20-04-2022( 10 years)
the status ILR
I ask same your question about the 12 months before he can apply for naturalisation
the said he need to wait until 22-09-13

Hi all,
Thank you very much and I wish all the best for you.
My advice to you all to write complain to the complaint section and they may direct you to onather and fallow that direction.
enk, as you've been 8 month waiting, write a complain to the complaint section and they will replay to you standard litter, however, they will say that if you are not happy with this response write to some one (I think his name is David) write to him and he will help you.
Regards

now I am considering wasting £72 on something might turn up, I have the following questions if anyone can help would be great,
1. I only received BRP card and my old refugee expired travel document. I have no other forms of identification for myself other than bills and driving license.
Is it enough to send the old refugee travel document and BRP card (copy as they say BRP copy is enough)? I have no other documents
2. On my BRP card says settlement and does not mention I am refugee, which travel document do I apply for ? my expired one is a refugee convention blue one and that is the only proof that I am refugee. Am I still considered refugee ?

Dear
the colour copy of BRP work if you attach the expire travel documents ,be sure to complete the section 9 in td112 BRP form ,and the Photo need to be signed.
if your brp issued on base of protection route ,you can apply for blue travel document.
