Documentation for visitor visa (IIT student)

Me and my wife hold British passport and planning to apply a visitor visa for daughter of my wife's elder sister. She is 18 years old and studying her engineering in a reputed college (IIT). Her parents are Government employees (School Teacher and Bank Manager). She already hold a fixed deposit of 5 lacs in her account.

We are worried a little that being a student, if we apply visitor visa for her, what are the cases visa can be rejected or so.

Could someone guide us what are the documents required to have strong case for her visit (Max stay will be 3 months in summer).

Most people here are not Indian, how do you expect us to know what this money means. Please translate in British Pounds.
