form ELR

Post by tw30 » Wed Dec 29, 2004 12:11 pm

hi i am filling in form ELR because i am applying for ILR having completed 4 years ELR under the asylum scheme. when i originally applied for asylum i did so with 2 children as dependants under the age of 18. now that i am applying for ILR one of my children is over 18. do i need to fill in a separate form for that child? the form does not specify.
thank you.

The over 18 year old child is not considered a dependent child - his/her inclusion in your application would be on a discretionary basis and would unecessarily complicate things. I presume he/she got the same period of ELR - he/she should submit his/her own form but send them as a family package i.e. in one envelope so they can be processed at the same time..you can include a cover note to this effect.
