ILR BRP renewal dilemma

Post by kkloon » Tue Sep 28, 2021 2:52 pm

Hi all

Both me and my wife are ILR holder with BRP and we had two child born in the UK whilst we had "settled" status which meant they are British citizen. Our existing BRP are coming up for renewal soon and we wonder if the Home Office would return the old BRP when we submit it for BRP renewal?

Our concern is the BRP are effectively the only proof that our children are British citizen, without it there would be no way to prove it in the future? We did not apply for the child passport as we originated from a country which do not recognise dual citizenship.

Please advise.
