Moving house while visa is in progress

Post by hippopotamus » Thu Jul 16, 2015 4:52 pm

Hi,

I sent my flr(m) visa application on the 9th of April 2015.
Biometric given, money taken, NHS surcharges paid etc. however still have not heard about the results yet. I called the home office today and they said no decisions have been made yet and I still have to wait. I asked them if there is anything I could do to speed up the process but she said they can only speed it up in cases of emergency.
My questions are:

1) what sort cases are considered as emergency?

2) I am moving house on the 4th of August. Do I have to inform this to the home office and if I did, does that mean my application starts back to square one? Ie having to re-apply and pay everything all over again?

It's been over 3 months now since I've submitted the application. I think it was because I was late at paying the NHS surcharges (paid it on the 2nd of July).

I really appreciate anyone who could help me with my questions.
Many thanks for your time

Report a change of circumstances if you have a visa or BRP, or if you’ve applied for one

1. e.g. - Death / critical illness of someone in family abroad. Moving home is certainly not an emergency.
2. Yes, no, no.

Thanks for your reply shushmehdta. Good to know I don't have to go back to square one.

Do you know how do I inform home home office regarding the change of address? I would usually call 0300 123 2241 to ask about my visa status. Do I just call that number to let them know about the change of address?

Many thanks for your help
