Overstaying a tier c visitor visa due to travel restrictions

Post by Jw9315 » Tue Apr 13, 2021 10:12 pm

Hi
We have a grandparent staying with us who is on a VISA that allows a six months stay in any one year in the uk.

She’s due to travel back soon, but due to travel restrictions, it’s hard for her to get a ticket which means she might end up staying past the six months she’s officially meant to be here.

If the uk government is stopping her from flying due to restrictions, is there a way to tell the home office what the situation is so they know she had no choice but to stay past her official date? Just don’t want it to look like she overstayed when they inspect her dates in the future

Thanks!

Didn't they need to have a return ticket, to enter the UK as a visitor?
