Replacement of BRP on ILR

Minor is on ILR , BRP expired and applied through post. Gave biometric in post office on 2nd June 2018. There is no mention about standard service time in gov.uk. Need to travel and Spoke to home office. Shocked to learn that it will take up to 6 months. Any experience on similar cases?

Yes it can take up to 6 months
