Returning back with an expired passport

Hi Members,

I want to know if one can enter in the UK with an expired foreign passport?(With ILR status)Please direct me to the link if anybody knows that.

No you cannot. You need a valid passport to travel and enter the UK.

I suggest renew the passport and travel with both so you can present your ilr in the expired passport to enter the UK.

Also, most airlines won't let you board the flight with an expired passport.

The problem is not of visa as I got ILR in BRP. It's just the passport that will be expired while returning back.(It will be valid while going abroad). Also after the passport expiry date I may be applying for naturalization so I was planning accordingly. So as per your suggestion should I renew my passport before going abroad? or I could get away with it as only in couple of months after that I will be applying for B.C?
