Standard Vist VISA for my mother from Paksitan

Post by JustGotHSMP » Sat Sep 02, 2023 3:31 pm

Hi Eveyone,

I will be extremely thankful if someone who has recently applied for Standard Visitor Visa for their parents from Pakistan preferably Lahore can share the list of documents and the visa process.

My father passed away 8 years ago and mother is 70 years old. She is a house wife and lives jointly along with my 2 younger brothers and their families)

I am in UK for the last 12 years and have not sponsored anyone in the past.

So any suggestions will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure it makes any difference who you address it to. Some address to "The British High Commissioner" or "The British Deputy High Commissioner".

Some regular guy just opens it anyways.

It does not have to be specific e.g. most visa vignettes come back with place of issue as Sheffield, UK, so addressing To Whom It May Concern covers any UKVI office that attends to it.

Please can someone help me with this as I am filling in the application form?

>> How much money are you personally planning to
spend on your visit to the UK?
-She can afford that £1500 by herself also
- £0 (In case visa+ ticket cost to be borne by me or my brother)

>>How much money will they be paying towards your
visit?
- £1500 (£115 Visa Fee + £1300 Return Ticket)

My mother is a housewife and a widow, please can someone help me with these
Employment
>>What is your employment status?
Unemployed
>>Previous employment organization?
I have not worked in any jobs listed above

Income and Expenditure
>>Do You have another income or any savings?
Other regular additional income, savings

>>What kind of regular additional income do you have?
--Allowance or regular money from your family, investments Another income
(Younger brother transfers a fixed amount to mother's account, she receives profit from her savings account, and she has invested in Saving certificates)

>>Total Amount of regular additional income that you get in a year?
£3500
How much money do you have in Savings?
£12500

>>What is the amount of money you spend each month?
--80,000 PKR (£235)

>>Will anyone be paying towards the cost of your visit?
--I am confused here about what to write as My mother has got enough savings and can afford to pay the visa fee and travel ticket (£115+ £1300),
I want to pay for her travelling expenses and all her expenses in the UK
My youngest brother wants to pay for all the traveling costs for my mothers (£115 +1300)
So what is the best case: Applicant, Myself (based in the UK), or youngest (son based in Pakistan)

I am writing in the letter 2/3 weeks or a maximum of 3 weeks but when filling in the form we have to mention the exact dates (intend to travel 01-01-2024 till 15-01-2024 15 days, will it matter that if actually she stays for 3 weeks or it better to span the to 21 days (01-01-2024 to 21-01-2024)

Thanks in advance

Please seniors can help me with these (From the Document Check list after submitting online standard visa form)

As you have applied under the Visit – Standard category:

Evidence of funds available to you, and which are clearly accessible by you
Mother will attach her bank statements.

Evidence of support you will receive from your sponsor including details of what support is being provided and how
My mother will explain in the covering letter that son in UK is sponbsoring her trip and she is only carying £300

Evidence of the relationship, if any, between you and your sponsor
Family Registration Certificate from NADRA Paksitan.

Evidence that your sponsor is not, or will not be, in breach of UK immigration laws at the time of your visit

Copy of british passport for myself

As you are visiting family or friends:
Invitation from your UK based family or friend(s) and evidence of their permission to be in the UK
I will write a sponsorship letter and copy of British passport

Help will be much apprciated.

Thanks in advance

Mother will attach her bank statements. 6 months worth of it.

My mother will explain in the covering letter that son in UK is sponbsoring her trip and she is only carying £300 That's enough.

Evidence of the relationship, if any, between you and your sponsor
Family Registration Certificate from NADRA Paksitan. If you have the same surname, then passport should suffice. Nothing wrong with what you mentioned either.

Thanks @Amazonian

Please can someone help me with this,

I have downloaded the Document Checklist after filling out the online application form and paying the visa fee.

I am a bit confused as there is not much space to list all the documents. The page in the document checklist has only 7 lines, while I have approx 34 documents that need to be listed and uploaded including applicants' documents, sponsors' documents, and my both brother's documents.

Your help/suggestion will be extremely appreciated.

You can create a MS document to list other documents you are providing.

Thanks, Amazonian,

You meant to say MS Word document listing all the documents attached and refer to that in the cover letter.

Also, does the document checklist need to be signed at the VFS?

Help will be highly appreciated for my few queries: @AmazonianX, @Casa, @CR001

I have uploaded the documents, I pressed save and upload, and there is no option to delete the attachments or change the order of the uploaded files.

There is a section of the TB certificate (My mother is applying for a visitor visa and intends to come for a maximum of 3 weeks, does she still need the TB test)

Also, I am unable to try to change the timings but unable to make any changes ( VFS Lahore)

Most of the documents I have uploaded to the Additional Documents / Others section as they were not fitting in the other sections. Is there a way to move the documents uploaded documents from one section to the other?

Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

No need to do a TB test for visitors.

All documents will be seen by caseworker, not crucial where you put them.
Not a qualified immigration adviser. Use links and references given to gain confirmation and/or extra information.

Note that not having the application in view. If the portal has not changed, you should be able to delete amend, reorder as desired. Check properly the layout.

in the FAQs , it says
How can I reschedule my appointment?

You can reschedule your appointment by logging into your account, up to 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment date. This link can be found on our website and is also provided in your appointment booking emails.

On your Dashboard page, select Manage Appointment, open the Appointment Details section and select Reschedule Appointment.

This option is currently suspended for Pakistan.

VFS do not impose any additional charges beyond what is clearly stated on our website.

As a result of widespread abuse of this free appointment booking system, where customers were being diverted into paying for appointments via unauthorised agents, the decision has been taken, following agreement with UKVI, to suspend the ability to reschedule appointments on our website, with immediate effect.

If you require assistance, please use the 'Contact us' link at the bottom of the page to get in touch.
There is an option to upload more documents.

On clicking "View Uploaded Files" I can see the existing uploaded documents under the respective categories, I can select the file name by ticking the check box, but unfortunately, I cannot see any option to remove/delete or amend it.

Would this said file affect the application negatively? If not, why not let it be. If you think that you have a more current version of that same file, you can upload that as well. Everything would be looked at.
Some softwares based on admin rights knock off the delete options. Maybe that's happened.
