Hey,

I had 3 passports and the latest one was new without any stamps. Despite that I scanned and uploaded all pages from my 3 passports along with 2 passports of my spouse. When you will go for appointment, the guy over there will only scan your latest passport and only those pages that have stamps on.
In addition, can you outline the list of documents you submitted to supporting the "my other reasons to stay in the UK" question please. Thanks
Hey,

I am academic and I listed my research/job as primarily reason to stay in UK, hence provided my employment letter, secondly I listed my Mortgage/Home another reason to stay in UK.

Goodluck to your application.
@frmglasgow, congrats on getting ILR!

I am preparing my application for ILR (long residence) too and have a question about the employment letter and mortgage evidence you provided.

I've completed a 'dummy' application online and on the document checklist there is no request for a letter from the employer or mortgage evidence; can I assume you added these in order to strengthen your application?

I am planning to change jobs after I get ILR (as in, hand in my notice the day after ILR is granted because I already have an offer from another employer).

At the time of application, my current employer should be able to issue me with a letter confirming I am working for them and will continue to do so. It might raise questions when I request such a letter though because my Tier 2 is still valid for 3 years.

So my preference is to not ask my employer for a letter to support ILR in case they ask why, at which point they might guess that I am intending to change jobs and refuse to/become legally not able to issue me with a letter if they know I am leaving.

You mentioned that it was a 'simple' application because you were staying with your employer, I am wondering whether my application will be considered less simple if I cannot demonstrate that I am staying.

So my question is, was this letter a mandatory part of your application and if not, do you think it helped to include it?
You probably won't need an employer letter especially if you can provide all previous passports. If you are on a tier 2 permit, you may like include couple of your payslips or P60s. You can also obtain a letter from employer without telling them why you need it (or say that you need it for bank, Schengen visa, etc).

Priority: you pay less (£2999) and get decision in 2 hours.
SUPER priority: you pay more (£3018) and you may get a decision after a week of silence or after 2 months.

Home Office contracts are jokes, as much as other departments' contracts are. E.g. a £14m contract with a ferry company with no ferries!

Hi Mumbai2003,

First of all congratulations for you wife's ILR SET(M) application. My wife's ILR SET(M) application is going to be done in the next week or so. Can you please share your experience of applying online, any quirks that I need to be aware of? Also, can you please provide me with a list of documents you used/uploaded online for the application?

Your help in this matter will be really appreciated!

Regards,

KChakrabarty

It's amazing how useless the UKVI hotline is. I called them twice this morning and all they say is call again after 5 working days, basically keep kicking the can down the road and hope for the best.

Can imagine how/why applications can't be processed in the order're received.

Even I have escalated my case few times and always got below reply.

I am sorry that your case is outside of the published service standards. We aim to complete all applications within the 24 hour service standard. However, where we are not able to do this we will complete the application as quickly as possible. If the delay in making the decision is due to UKVI, we will refund the super priority service fee. The team will be in touch once they have made a decision.

Please note the onus is upon individual customers to ensure that they satisfy the requirements set out in the guidance material. The guidance material accompanies each and every application form. UK Visas and Immigration is not able to give, indicate or advise upon the outcome of any such application prior to it being given full and careful consideration.

Directing you to the guidance material is the only advice we can give you. If you need any further help you should seek independent immigration advice. Immigration advisers can help you with immigration matters, including completion of forms and representing you at a tribunal. The Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC) regulates immigration advisers, which mean they must meet certain standards.

Please see the below link to find an immigration adviser:

https://www.gov.uk/find-an-immigration-adviser

From the trend, it seems like UKVI are processing super priority applications on urgent basis ( which should be case) however they are not putting much focus of cases which have already missed the super priority deadline, so if its 1 day late or 30 days late, the outcome is the refund in both cases.

I dont know how to emphasize this to the front line customer care of UKVi as they have very little control and visibility of this dark system of operations of UKVI.......very sadly let down.....dont know what else to do here..... :( :( :(

I have just received my decision letter and BRP. My details are below

Sopra appointment: 10 December 2018
Decision email: 29 December 2018
Decision letter and BRP received 7 Jan 2019

Here are my two cents for people who have been waiting since November and early December. Please approach your local MP to unclog your file from the 6 month binder it has been kept for no fault of your own or otherwise. HO is required to give a decision and/or ask for further information in 24 hours. If they fail to do so they are failing to service the t&c of the Super Priority. These delayed applications should eventually be subject to a partial refund of the fees therefore UKVI has no incentive to process them quicker unless you put some pressure on them. The latter can only be best achieved by a strong letter to your local MP.

Overall, I urge everyone whose application has failed to meet the service standard to demand a partial refund. Lets rally around this. On that vein, has anyone received the partial refund till now?

Thanks

Hi,

Application submitted: 08 - dec-18
Biometrics done : 19-dec-18 @ mark lane premium
Service : set (o) super priority

No communication , decision or letter from home office yet.
Called UK V&I to get an update. Later got an email saying " We aim to complete all applications within the 24-hour service standard. However, where we are not able to do this we will complete the application as quickly as possible and where delays in making the decision are not the fault of the customer, the super priority service fee will be refunded"

While it's good to know about refund, does this mean my application is now under 6 months service standard? :-(. Any experience anyone?

I submitted my application using super priority service last night and this afternoon received email from home office

"Thank you for your application to the Home Office. Your application has been received and is being considered.

It may take up to six months to make a decision on your case. If we are unable to process your application within six months we will tell you as soon as possible."

I am confused as i paid 3018 and why they sent me the above email. Although my appointment at sopra steria is still 2 weeks away

Hi,

Thank you. Bank statement is not required for 10 year long residence route. I did not submit statement to support my application. The documents stated in the document checklist are all that is required. The rest of it are just to support other reasons to stay in the UK. All the best with your application.
