It has been a month now of submitting application at Sopra center with super priority service. I am bit optimistic for my application as they mentioned applications made in transition period are being reviewed to be cleared in January , and I believe my application is one such case as it was submitted online before this new Sopra service introduced but appointment was later booked with Sopra.
Last Friday when I called to front end service, they offered whether I want phone from HO or email reply, I confirmed phone is better. Hopefully I will get a call this week.

Hi Nice111,

I have applied for my wife dependent visa online.

Submitted online application on 12-dec-2018.
Biomett done on 22-dec-2018.
Visa Service selected Priority Service (result in 10 days).

We still haven't received the result yet.

Could you please help me with below query;
.1. what number you called to speak to Home Office ?

.2. With what currior do they send the BRP card. Is it by DX currior or Royal Mail ?

.3. They have not sent any letter or email so far. So how do we know what is the status of the application ?

.4. So when you got your approval letter , was that a letter through standard delivery or the signed delivery ?

Your help will be much appreciated .

Thanks and Regards,
Raj
Hi Raj007

.1. what number you called to speak to Home Office ?
0300 123 2241

.2. With what currior do they send the BRP card. Is it by DX currior or Royal Mail ?
BRP card usually comes via DX and letter comes via Royal mail.

.3. They have not sent any letter or email so far. So how do we know what is the status of the application ?
HO system is very vague and unpredictable, some applicants have rcvd emails and some have rcvd letters without any other correspondence and in some cases people ve rcvd BRP cards without any letters and emails. U will be lucky if they tell you the real status of the application.

.4. So when you got your approval letter , was that a letter through standard delivery or the signed delivery ?
I have not recently applied yet but as per my previous experiences, sometimes it is signed for and sometimes not but letter always came via royal mail.

Hope that helps.
Thanks

Hi samojerom,

I have called DX twice last week. But nothing for me so far.

Don't know how long we need to wait.

Thanks.

hi all,
I will be glad if any of you guys @groot5 @frmglasgow @kiwijane123 @ dilse4srk @Vpruk and other moderators help me with the below please. Im getting worried i may have submitted our application wrongly

I have a question about the Sopra Steria website. I have submitted ILR (LR) application for myself and my family. When i go to the Documents submission page, it only gives me optional documents catergory ONLY and No Mandatory documents. The same shows on my wifes application.

Does that seem normal? Did anyone of you get the Mandatory documents section to upload your files?
I too can see nothing under mandatory document but under optional documents i can see whole list of documents to be uploaded. So i uploaded all my docs under optional tabs. My appointment is next week
Hey dilse4srk,can you please list your support documents and under which category had you put them?
We refreshed the page today and now my wife page shows mandatory documents :? and very weird. My head is gone with this Sopra System now
I put documents under following categories

"Others"
Wife and child scanned passport, life in uk test, child birth cert

Life event:
Marriage certificate

Travel history:
All my passport with stamps

Employment:

Letter from employer

Education:

Degree

Application:

Consent
Thanks. Im very grateful to you and all the members on this forum

Hello everyone,

I have decided to post our experience as we have had a successful decision (FLR M) using this service in Birmingham (Trinity Park, B37 7ES)

We completed our application online, paid the IHS surcharge and then had the option of choosing the old or new service. We chose the new one and paid 1662.20 GBP for a "super priority" decision on 02/01/19.

We then visited the Sopra Steria UKVCAS website and chose the next available appointment which surprisingly wasn't free as it cost a further £100.

This was then paid and our appointment was booked for a few days later on 05/01/19 (which fell on a Saturday).

All of our documents were scanned from home and uploaded prior to our appointment via the UKVCAS website. This is a crucial step and I will explain the reason later.

When Saturday arrived, I was very nervous and me and my wife (the applicant) drove to the appointment centre which was around 15 minutes drive. On reaching there, we had some trouble finding the entrance but after a bit when we arrived and entered the building, there was a large queue already waiting outside the door. Everybody stood there anxious and nervous just like us. Our appointment was at 9:00 AM.

Long story short, we had to wait around an hour before anybody would see us, so I walked up to a worker and asked why we are being delayed when we were asked to come at 9:00 AM.

Apparently this is what was happening: lots of people needed their documents scanned and the staff were unaware of this until they had arrived. There was no system in place to determine who needed documents scanned and who had already uploaded everything from home. This caused a huge knock-on effect as the people who had done all of their scanning from home were forced to wait.

After about 1.5 hours of waiting, we were then seen by a member of staff. We informed her that we had already uploaded everything from home. She checked our files on the website and everything was perfect.

She then informed us that we could take our original documents home as they were not needed. I don't think she did her job properly as she never even opened our folder to cross-check the originals vs the ones uploaded. Anyway, I wasn't going to complain as I just wanted to get out of there.

We were told that we would receive an email the next working day with a decision.

This is exactly what happened. Sunday went by with nothing (it's not a working day), but on Monday afternoon we got an email saying a decision has been made and my wife has been granted an FLR-M extension.

So application was made on 02/01/19. Appointment was booked on 05/01/19 and decision was made on 07/01/19.

All in all, I am very pleased with the service. We paid for a next-day decision and that is what we got. Other than the long waiting times, I don't have anything to critique. Just make sure you upload every single page of your files before hand so you don't have to wait longer when you go there.

Hope this helps anyone.

My wife waited 6 weeks for her decision. I have been actively involved in her case and it is our experience the HO customer service line 'escalation' does not speed up the decision process in the slightest.

I have had numerous conversations with a number of call handlers and some have let slip a few things. Firstly, your escalation does not reach the case worker; it is seen by a HO front desk person who does not have any access to any cases and will simply send out a generic reply. Secondly, they do not check whether your case has been allocated as super priority or not, the 'we aim to process within 24 hour service standard' is a generic email they send out if the query is about a super priority application. Thirdly, the mode of reply (email or telephone) makes no difference as it is still the same front desk person replying with a generic reply. Simply put, the customer service line 'escalation' isn't in fact an escalation; to me it seems like something HO has placed to meet government defined standards rather than it having any true function.

From our personal experience and from being a silent reader of this board for 6 weeks, there appears to be only two ways you can potentially speed things up.

First is by making an official complaint using the email provided on UKVI website. It cannot be a coincidence a few of the 'older' members getting their decisions after being contacted by the complaints department on the same day. They have a 20 working day turn around policy and I think some of the 'older' members are getting their decisions after the complaints department looked in to their complaints and contacted the specific case work team, my wife's case possibly included (please remember this is my assumption).
My wife's case was a straightforward 5 year tier 2 visa route and I personally don't buy the non-sense that complicated applications take longer to process. In my humble opinion the delays are likely from system errors and severe teething problems with the new electronic super priority service. The HO may slowly be getting a handle on things but I suspect some people are still going to get stranded like we were.

Second is by asking your MP to make a parliamentary enquiry regarding your case. When your MP's case worker contacts the HO (their parliamentary liaison team) again there is a 20 working day turn around policy. The liaison team then contacts the case work team who will report back to the liaison team with the case progress. I was told they cannot give a generic reply to a parliamentary enquiry and need to give details of progress. I suspect if your case was stuck in the wrong file or something this will help retrieve it, again this is my conjecture.

To me there appears to be no logical way of explaining why there has been such severe delays for some cases and some are getting quicker decisions. Also it does not seem like the HO is processing cases on 'first delayed first served' basis, which I feel is unethical. This may be to do with the HO having a number of different sites and many more subdivided case work teams who aren't singing from the same hymn sheet. I think some people simply have been luckier than others. The 6 week wait has been excruciating and I think many people on this board shared and is still sharing our pain. My wife deserves a holiday..

I agree with what cyk has posted above. In my case escalation and complaints email is what I believe got the ball rolling.

I just got my BRP delivered by DX at 7:46 am!!!!

I hadn't even woken up properly and got my BRP dated 10th Jan 2019 the day i got the email of approval.
Already drafted the letter for refund and going to post it today and get the £610 back as promised by the complaints team.

That's super news, I'm so happy for you unfortunately, its been 5 working days for me now and no DX or Royal Mail or Telephone or Email.

However, send a query to DX just incase they have my BRP (fingercrossed)

Finally, you deserver rest and relaxation. :)

My guess is that they are trying to avoid offering refunds to everyone so they seem to be making decisions within the 24hr window for all new applications. I've been waiting for almost a month and still nothing. I sent in a complaint last week (as my solicitors are just sitting on their hands). I am travelling on the 22nd so I need a decision to come through this week!

Dear all

Relaying some of the recent good news, I am ready to share mine with extreme happiness.

SET (O) under Tier 2, Super Priority
Online Application: Dec 1 2018
Biometrics: Dec 1 2018 at Manchester Central Library

Numerous escalations starting from 3rd December.
Calling to UKVI contact centres - numerous times (lost counts)
Emails to Apply help, General Enquiry and Complaints
Wrote to MPs and calling to follow up

2x Generic emails about 6 months' decision timeline
2x emails about "sorry for the delay, but aim to decide as soon as possible"
1x email from the General Enquiry email address on the 19th working day ""sorry for the delay, but aim to decide as soon as possible"

Email received 11 January 2019 (today) at 10.41am
"I’m pleased to confirm that your application for indefinite leave to remain under Tier 2 of the immigration arrangements has now been granted. You will receive your decision letter and biometric residence permit (BRP) in due course and these will confirm your immigration status. Thank you for using our super priority service."
That’s fantastic news! Congratulations! I think it’s mine and Madiha’s one left in this category :(
This wait is very frustrating and it's getting worse by the day! Really hope we get our decisions this week.

Its so difficult and frustrating to wait for so long. I am also waiting since 8th November. Tried 4 escalations, contact to MP and complaint email but no news so far. Fed up of receiving the same generic emails again and again. Unfortunately, we cant do anything else but just wait.

Also, many times i have requested customer service people to put my case under urgent escalation as i am in my last trimester of my pregnancy and i need to travel but i don't think they pay any attention to anyone's situation. They juts keep sending generic emails.

Its so difficult and frustrating to wait for so long. I am also waiting since 8th November. Tried 4 escalations, contact to MP and complaint email but no news so far. Fed up of receiving the same generic emails again and again. Unfortunately, we cant do anything else but just wait.
When did you have your biometrics? Was it 8th of Nov?
Yes, I did my biometrics on 8th of November in Coventry Central Library. Online application was submitted on 5th of November.
Also, many times i have requested customer service people to put my case under urgent escalation as i am in my last trimester of my pregnancy and i need to travel but i don't think they pay any attention to anyone's situation. They juts keep sending generic emails.
This is part of the problem, they don't treat us like people that deserve an actual response or update on a service that we have paid good money for! I really hope that everyone still waiting, especially from November, hear back soon so we can carry on with our lives. We're stuck at the moment which is extremely frustrating.

So true. I wish we all will receive our decision soon. Hoping to get this issue sorted out for everyone who is waiting since long.

Congratulations many of you!

Looks like the writing complaint does work out well @badhodor

Still nothing since 28 November for myself...

However I only called them 4 times and didn't write until last week..so I will have to wait for longer time until they see my complaint and could take my application out of the 6 months jam.

What is the purpose of the telephone escalation then?

Yes, he sent me a consent form via mail to sign before looking into my case. I have posted it today. Hopefully he will receive it by tomorrow and can take some action.

Hi, I just called my lawyer and they told me that it is taking sometime to process due to new system. They did tell me to make a complaint rather than call via telephone. They told me that complaint is more effect and when you actually make a call those guys have no access to caseworker or any application and sometimes they might not even pass on the details they take from us. They're basically admin people with no knowledge at all regarding application.

I made a complaint on Saturday and I was due to call today because it has been 5 working days but I'll leave it for now and see how it goes.

Doe anyone who used Lawyer have experience if they received their letter and BRP at home address or lawyer address.

I was wondering if we can make a fresh application while the current application is pending?
Do we have to withdraw the application first or would it be withdrawn automatically if a new application under the same category is made?

Thanks
