Hi All,

I am waiting for a response since 15th of December (Tier 2 to ILR). My lawyer just received another generic e-mail from the HO again regarding refund if they can't deliver in 24 hours. The same email I received 2 times before.

I can see that on Sopra Steria account I still have access all my uploads and can upload new ones. Maybe it is been answered before but does it mean that your application has not been look at yet if you still have an access?

Also, I am worried as I didn't upload the documents myself and everything was uploaded during my appointmnet. I can see that Sponsors/Employment section and Educational section are empty is it supposed to be like that when you apply for ILR via Tier 2. I provided the letter from my company regarding the my absence and my need for the role for a foreseeable future and also UK degree and not sure which sections they went under when being uploaded. Any advice would be highly appreciated.
@Eagle123, You don't have to worry about that because on 7th of Jan 2019 when my documents were being uploaded the lady told me that the most important thing was passport which needed to be in Mandatory Doc Section and it didn't matter if optional documents were upload in different places. So from my experience you need not worry.

And another thing I find funny is that even thought I uploaded all my document for some reason the case worker couldn't find my "Absence date and my MSc Degree" to support my English Requirement. However, my lawyer did email them back and this happened on the same day I applied for my Biometric

Hi Eagle123,
Are you sure, After BRP and documents finally submitted to Home Office then Upload option disable. or If casework review the case then Upload option disable? so could you tell me or share your experience of this.....

If you look back at previous posts, you will realise that no one knows what is going on. People are putting their best guesses depending on their experiences. All you can do is wait because Helpline is of no use and only fetches generic replies. So just wait and watch, there are lots of people in same boat as you

I thought I am the only one that is still waiting since 28 Nov. I am also on SET O 5 year T2 to ILR route.
Your delay is even longer than mine. I am also waiting for some results from MP's help done last week. Shake hands :)))

It has been a month now of submitting application at Sopra center with super priority service. I am bit optimistic for my application as they mentioned applications made in transition period are being reviewed to be cleared in January , and I believe my application is one such case as it was submitted online before this new Sopra service introduced but appointment was later booked with Sopra.
Last Friday when I called to front end service, they offered whether I want phone from HO or email reply, I confirmed phone is better. Hopefully I will get a call this week.
My wife waited 6 weeks for her decision. I have been actively involved in her case and it is our experience the HO customer service line 'escalation' does not speed up the decision process in the slightest.

I have had numerous conversations with a number of call handlers and some have let slip a few things. Firstly, your escalation does not reach the case worker; it is seen by a HO front desk person who does not have any access to any cases and will simply send out a generic reply. Secondly, they do not check whether your case has been allocated as super priority or not, the 'we aim to process within 24 hour service standard' is a generic email they send out if the query is about a super priority application. Thirdly, the mode of reply (email or telephone) makes no difference as it is still the same front desk person replying with a generic reply. Simply put, the customer service line 'escalation' isn't in fact an escalation; to me it seems like something HO has placed to meet government defined standards rather than it having any true function.

From our personal experience and from being a silent reader of this board for 6 weeks, there appears to be only two ways you can potentially speed things up.

First is by making an official complaint using the email provided on UKVI website. It cannot be a coincidence a few of the 'older' members getting their decisions after being contacted by the complaints department on the same day. They have a 20 working day turn around policy and I think some of the 'older' members are getting their decisions after the complaints department looked in to their complaints and contacted the specific case work team, my wife's case possibly included (please remember this is my assumption).
My wife's case was a straightforward 5 year tier 2 visa route and I personally don't buy the non-sense that complicated applications take longer to process. In my humble opinion the delays are likely from system errors and severe teething problems with the new electronic super priority service. The HO may slowly be getting a handle on things but I suspect some people are still going to get stranded like we were.

Second is by asking your MP to make a parliamentary enquiry regarding your case. When your MP's case worker contacts the HO (their parliamentary liaison team) again there is a 20 working day turn around policy. The liaison team then contacts the case work team who will report back to the liaison team with the case progress. I was told they cannot give a generic reply to a parliamentary enquiry and need to give details of progress. I suspect if your case was stuck in the wrong file or something this will help retrieve it, again this is my conjecture.

To me there appears to be no logical way of explaining why there has been such severe delays for some cases and some are getting quicker decisions. Also it does not seem like the HO is processing cases on 'first delayed first served' basis, which I feel is unethical. This may be to do with the HO having a number of different sites and many more subdivided case work teams who aren't singing from the same hymn sheet. I think some people simply have been luckier than others. The 6 week wait has been excruciating and I think many people on this board shared and is still sharing our pain. My wife deserves a holiday..

Rightly said cyt0987....

Heartfelt Congrats to all those who have got their’s, esp the ones like Badhour....hope you all get ur well deserved refunds soo too...it’s like being ‘family’ in here !!!!....just calms you down a bit, once you know that you are not alone...

I’m still waiting since -
Biometrics submitted on 24th Nov for SET (O) - 5 yrs Tier 2 ILR application 24-hr (not yr !&) priority service...pretty straight forward one...

Four phone call escalations with zero effect....

Lately I did e-mail my MP....received a beaut letter from him, the very next day-bless him...it says he has raised it with the Director General @ HO which I received last week...

hoping this week turns out to bear some fruits ...and I don’t think this killer wait is worth the 600/- anyway...it’s worth much much more....but something better than nothing...getting the ILR still remains the main priority...so let’s waaaaait.
Shake hands mate...👋👋👋
Still waiting😖😩😫

What’s annoying is that they have total disregard for ‘first come, first serve’ at all....No offence to all who have got their outcomes- which is brilliant really !!!...it seems like applying in Jan was much much better and faster than Nov...but we can’t go back, can we?

just wondering if all the waiters fm Nov and Dec had Visa rejections before - which could technically be classified as ‘bad’ immigration history, esp with newly trained HO staff...I had 3 rejections in a row on my first ever application for a UK Visa for very silly reasons, which were then sorted...my worry is that- has this history prompted my application to be thrown into the 6-month pile ???...mistaking it as a complicated one 🧐

If all the waiters have such issues (as a common factor), this could be the answer for the delay....and the dilemma that some are getting it pretty quickly and some are just waiting for ages...

I am not sure abou this. I think it was discussed here before. It is just speculation now, but I find it very strange that you can go and edit the documents at the same time caseworker is reviewing them.

Did you have any issues/delays previously when you renewed your other visas in the UK afterwards? Even though they think the applicant has complecated visa history they are supposed to contact the applicant and informed the person about the reason for the delay. It might take longer due to further checks, but it is the matter of 1-3 weeks.

Also, correct me if I am wrong, but I have read many many pages here and it seems ILR from Tier 2 are the most delayed category of applications when it comes to the settlement.

There is no option to reschedule. You're going to have to cancel your appointment that's already booked and then re-book but you can't see other available appointments until you've cancelled so you can potentially end up with an appointment further away this way so just keep that in mind.

I had to reschedule my appointment once.

I thought I am the only one that is still waiting since 28 Nov. I am also on SET O 5 year T2 to ILR route.
Your delay is even longer than mine. I am also waiting for some results from MP's help done last week. Shake hands :)))

I'm still waiting - my biometrics were on 28th Nov and I've got a clean immigration history. No rejections.

Thanks !
Which means that wasn’t a criterion fir the delay...so let’s waaait then.

My case is also very strange

Set(o) Tier 2 ILR Online submission: 10th of Dec

Biometrics appointment: 14th of Dec at Glasgow centre

Still waiting for results. I have been calling them for third times. The first email I received was a bit strange. It said that my application has not been completed and I shall keep waiting.

Several days later when I made my second escalation, the email was: We are aiming to make decision within 24hrs however if the case is delayed due to not customer fault, then I am eligible for refund blablabla (generic again).

Then something strange happened today. I did my 3rd escalation yesterday and today I got a phone call from them and they said they were unable to track my application online. Then they gave me an email address and asked me to email them my application form!

After I did that, I receive a further phone call from them and said my application has been found and there is a delay in process blablabla and I am eligible for refund (generic reply again). Then 2 hours later, my solicitor received a very strange email! It was sent by UK Sopra Streia and said: Thanks for uploading your supporting documents. We have now completed the following checks of the files that were available as of 15/1/19.

Did anyone got this email before? The strange thing is I never paid for this documents checking service and it did send to me after a month waiting.... That is very strange...

Also, correct me if I am wrong, but I have read many many pages here and it seems ILR from Tier 2 are the most delayed category of applications when it comes to the settlement.

You are CORRECT @Eagle123 . The cases reported here seems to agree with your statistics of Tier 2->ILR being the most delayed. The other way of looking at it, is this, compared to Tier2 route, not many of the other routes (e.g. a partner, a family member, continuous and long-term lawful residence and person with ancestry ties) have been to reported here. TBH I can count a handful of ILR(LR) reported here

This is a scary news ! But atleast this shows progress and that your application is really ‘under consideration’ so can hope to expect a result soon

Hi Kiwitt,

That's very strange indeed. I had application on the same day 14 Dec at Glasgow core centre.
I had opted for the document check so I received that email about the same the day before my appointment.
I am still waiting for my decision - have had several escalations and nothing so far apart from the Generic emails.

Hi Preet, so you chose the document checking service ? The strange thing is I did not pay for that...
Is that possible that due to system error that the home office never recieved our documents? You'd better ask them to call you back rather than email when making escalation...

Hi,

Yes I paid for the document checking service. It is strange that you received an email about that.
You could probably call the Sopra Steria Centre and asked them about the email your received and double check if your application was submitted on the 14th December or not.

When you escalated in the past - did they take your details and verify against their system? I don't think they will escalate my case any more - as I have already escalated 3 times but if they do escalate it again I will ask them to contact me over the phone.

Hi Preet,
Thanks for your reply. Do you know how can I get contact with the Steria centre? I did call them but they said the number was wrong so it did not go through. I think you can keep calling them after every five working days, just say some reasons...I said that my family member is in bad health condition and I really need to know the result asap. That is how they then helped me to do that again... otherwise they are quite reluctant as expected

That's the sopra steria contact number. Worth giving it a try I think.

Did you receive any email with your Case ID after the submission?

That's fine. I don't think any of us has received an email notification after the biometric submission.

I did check with Sopra Steria though - just to double check if my application was submitted that day and they confirmed the same with the time it was submitted.

Re: UKVCAS Super Priority Service

Post by Chadni90 » Wed Jan 16, 2019 12:44 am

I submitted my online application to switch from tier 4 to tier 2 general visa on 4th December and booked appointment in a super priority center in Solihull on 18th December.

I was asked to upload the scanned copy of my current passport, BRP and confirmation letter of my 1 year study from my institution on the UKVCAS sopra steria online account before I visit the appointment on 18th.

I uploaded them and went to attend the priority service center for biometric and documents check. During the appointment they took biometric and scanned my passport. They didn't even ask to check any hard copies even though I informed them that I brought all the documents.

After 2 days the home office sent a letter asking for extra fee as they considered my occupation as non shortage while I ticked shortage as I will be working in Emergency Department (which according to UKVI is a shortage occupation).

However, I have sent the money anyway on 22nd December and they also deducted the fee on 3rd January. But since then I have not heard from home office.

When I called home office regarding the progress of my application on 10th January, they sent me an email on 15th January informing following:

"Thank you for contacting UKVI Contact Centre.

Our records show your application has not yet been completed.

We are unable to advise when a decision will be made but you will be notified in writing once made.
If you wish to withdraw your application, please go to GOV.UK.
We are sorry we cannot be of further assistance at this time."

I am now wondering, if anyone had any such experience. I am very much worried as I don't know what does it mean that my application is not complete!

Does it mean I haven't provided any supporting documents? I had uploaded all of them already. Even if I missed anything, wouldn't they contact me asking for that the way they contacted me about the extra fee?

In my gov.uk account it still shows I have to book an appointment with the commercial partner for biometric and documents check by 5th February. But I had done that already on 18th!

I really am getting confused and anxious.

Is there any chance that I could get rejected! What should I do in this situation?

Any suggestions from anyone will be appreciated!
