vehicle ownership

I guess kind of off topic, but does anyone have any information about vehicle ownership/driving priviledges while working in the UK? info from emission standards to insurance would be awesome.

A MOT certificate is issued when the car passes an annual safety inspection (given annually once the car reaches a certain age). The MOT certificate is needed to register and tax the vehicle.
