Visa validity - Tier 2 / Tourist Visa

Post by haribhai » Tue Sep 18, 2018 9:56 am

Hello,

I have a general query regarding UK visas. My father is currently in the U.K. on a Tier 2 visa which expires in Nov19. He also has a UK Tourist visa on his passport which expires in 2021. Once his Tier 2 visa expires next year, can he visit the U.K. as a tourist on his existing tourist visa (expiring in 2021)? In other words, will his existing tourist visa still be valid once his Tier 2 visa has expired.

Regards,

Haribhai

He is obviously aware that when he visits the U.K. on a tourist visa, he will be bound by the Tourist visa rules and will not be here for work purposes.

You may well find that your father's visitor visa was invalidated once his Tier 2 visa was issued as it's not possible to hold two different categories of visa at the same time.

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.
