Visitors visa for parents while on benefits

Post by orsino2olivia » Thu Aug 04, 2022 2:03 pm

Hello,

My parents want to come to the UK with Vistors visa and I will provide them with the invitation letter.
I am on universal credit. Does this affect their visa application? Do they check the benefits status of the person who is inviting/sponsoring parents to visit the UK? (Although I am not sponsoring here, just providing an invitation letter and providing accommodation as they will be staying in my flat, but they will be self-funding their trip)

Regards,
Orsino

Technically, you can invite anyone. Whether they get it or not is a different discussion. If your parents are very comfortable were they are and can provide evidence to that effect. Then they would be fine. Ties to their country or place of residence. With a fat account or income to show that they can afford to spend that amount of money for such a short period.

Since you're not sponsoring, and not using your bank statements, there's no way of finding out you're on UC.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!
