German Visa (Schengen Visa)

Hello,
I'm new here, Jer from Philippines. I'm was invited by my Boyfriend to spend holidays in Germany, he will be the one to support my accomodation, but I will be the one to shoulder my
Plane ticket, my question is can I write in the application form that we will both share my travel expenses? and do I really need to submit an ITR (Income Tax Return) coz I do not have one of that, please help me Im confused and can my Boyfriend Process my Paper at Germany Embassy like Embassy to embassy, Thank you in advance for the reply.

For Schengen visas, as in the case of Germany, there is no embassy to embassy application for visit visas.

Since your boyfriend is not related to you in any way, I do not think his financial support will go a long way in your application. However he should be able to help with the letter of invitation and a statement that you can stay with him should do instead of hotel bookings. The other big challenge in such cases, other than the financial one, is that you have to prove that you will indeed return back to your country.

Well, assuming your boyfriend is currently in Germany, he would find it incredibily difficult to find a German embassy in Germany.

In any case, all German Schengen visa applications must be applied for by the person who wants the visa, and at a German embassy in the country in which the application is normally resident, in this case the Philippines. Your boyfriend cannot process anything for you in Germany.

In addition you will also be required to provide documents proving your financial situation such as:

- Letter of employment or enrolment in college if you are a student
- Bank statements showing a healthy balance to cover you for the number of days you are intending to stay (usually 40 - 50 euros per day)
- Plane tickets
- Proof of accomodation (either hotel booking or a letter from the local town hall of the area where your boyfriend stays)
In a few years time we'll look back on immigration control like we look back on American prohibition in the thirties - futile and counter-productive.

Thanks a lot for the helpful Info, I also want to ask If I still need to present Marriage contract of my parents and I really don't have an ITR (Income Tax Return) what will I do? and do you know some other documents that I need to present, Thank you very much again :D

What on earth do your parents (and their marriage) have to do with getting a visa?

Thank You so much Dawie, I just wanna make sure if I still need those,
oops one last question, how about the Income Tax Return, I really don't have that. My company is not paying any taxes for the employee, and it's my choice too.

This is not completely correct:
The "embassies" in Germany are called "Ausländerbehörde" and are responsible for all matters regarding foreigners in Germany.

Your boyfriend HAVE TO go to the Ausländerbehörde and sign there a document which says that he is guaranteeing your stay. This document must be present in the Manila embassy during your interview there. My experience from 2000 in Hamburg is, that the Ausländerbehörde is sending the document to the embassy. My experience from 2007 in Bremen is, that your boyfriend has to send the original to you and you have to present it in during the interview.

You have also to provide a health insurance, which is got best (according to my experience) online from a German insurance (Hanse-Merkur, 3 months, 73.00 Euro)

The ITR is mandatory but if you can explain, why you don't have one, it is ok. Don't let the Germans feel that you are cheating your government by not paying your taxes. They will think, that you will also cheat the Germans.
Beside all the documents, the embassy will mainly check if you are willing to return. So bring anything, which let them believe that you will return.
