Getting married in the UK...

Post by Skyllberg » Wed Dec 06, 2006 6:30 pm

Hi everyone,

I hope someone can help me with this. I am a Swedish citizen and I have been living in the UK for the past two years and have met a beautiful girl, and we feel ready to get married. The problem is though that she's not a european citizen and is here on a student visa which means that she will have to go back to here home country as soon as this has finished.

My question is therefore how to prevent this from happen. I am not a Swedish citizen, and by marrying her in Sweden, she would not be able to get a Swedish citizenship as we both live in the UK. Is it possible to get married in the UK, and that she will be granted permission to stay, and later apply for nutralisation?

Any help appreciated!

Thanks,

E.

Your fiancée will need to apply for a CoA ... Certificate of Approval to Marry ... application form .... click here.

How long is left on her current current visa? And indeed when that visa was first issued, how long was it for? That is, the length of validity of that visa?
