Hello all,
I had applied last year for a 2.5 year visa based on the fact that it will be extremely hard for me to settle in my home country (which I have not visited for over 6-7 years now) based on my religious and life views.
Today I got a call from the Home Office informing that my application was under review and I had two options:
1. To continue with my application and they can then proceed and make a decision on it.
2. Or to switch to an asylum application and start the process afresh.
I am confused as what to do. Are the criteria used to judge applications different for different categories? Even if I switch to the asylum route, my supporting evidence will remain unchanged. I have nothing further to add to it.
But given that I got a call with the option leads me to believe that my current application will probably get rejected if I do not switch the route.
Any advice in this matter will be highly appreciated. Especially how switching to an asylum application from a regular application may impact me in future.
Thank you,
SM
