All

I have applied for 5 year visit visa for my mother which was refused and we appealed and appeal was allowed .
My mother has given passport for stamping and they have issued her only 6 month visa (don't know why?) and when I talked to Visa section they say it is up to the visa officer to determine length of visa. Could anyone throw light on this ? or tell me whom should I contact ???

Regards

There was something on the Islamabad BHC website about this..

Sorry, I cant find it now, but the gist of it was..

you cant apply for a 5-year visa any more, unless you already have a 5 year one thats already expired.

first timers should always apply for a 6-month one, as getting a 5 year is impossible and 2-year one is unlikely.

She has already travelled to UK before on six months visa.
In appeal also the judge wrote in his judgement that she should be given 5 year visa. But BHC new delhi has issued her only 6 months visa without giving any reason.....
