Global talent visa switch and dependents visa change and ILR?

Post by MrsSSR » Mon Mar 10, 2025 1:51 pm

Can I get some information on these questions please:
I am in UK on skilled worker visa from nov 2021 (visa valid till 2026 dec). My dependents are here too. I wana switch to global talent visa exceptional talent now (technation endorsed). I need clarification in following:
1. how many years global talent i should apply?1 years or 2 years? As according to my understanding, afer getting global talent visa exceptional talent by technation, i would be eligible for ILR as i have already spent 3 years in Uk on skilled worker visa.
2. My dependets would need to swtich visa with me or they can wait until there current skilled worker’s dependent visa expires i.e. 2026 dec?
3. If I take 1 year global talent visa for myself and my dependents still need to complete 1 year 8 months to be eligible for ILR in nov 2026; so would it be ok if i apply visa for 1 year making my global visa expire earlier than my dependents as my dependents have current visa valid till dec 2026…so this mismatch in visa expiry of mine (global talent visa) and my dependents will not cause any problem to my dependents in future?
4. And if i take 1 year global talent visa; i also plan to apply for ILR within this 1 year (in 2025). Would it cause any problem for my dependents in future when they complete there 5 years in nov 2026 and apply for ILR due to me having ILR by then and they will be on skilled worker’s dependents visa status?
