Going on holiday before student visa expires

Post by udi » Sat Dec 26, 2009 9:00 am

Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding my student visa. My student visa is expiring in March and I am planing to apply for Graduate Temporary Visa in Febuary. I am planing to return to my home country for a 2 week holiday in January, so I will be back in Australia around late January.

Will I have any issues at the airport once i arrive back to Australia as my visa is going to expire in March, as they might be wondering why I'm returning back to Australia? I have already applied to sit my IELTS exam (Feb 6th) and skills assessment which are required for the 485 visa. Will showing proof of these 2 requirements to the immigration personnel at the airport be enough to show my intentions of applying for a new visa?

Has anyone had a similar experience or have any advise regarding this matter?

Looking forward to your suggestions.

Thanks
