got a job offer, tier 2 declined, which visa?

Post by taharamin » Tue Jun 22, 2010 11:11 am

hello there,

i'm from croatia and i was offered a job in a london based big architectural office. i've been to the interview and i was told to get the information on my eligibility to work in the uk, and i thought Tier 2 Visa corresponds to the situation, but the office wrote me that "in the current economic climate they feel it would not be possible for them to sponsor a candidate for a work permit under Tier 2. they have a large number of applicants with eligibility to work in the UK and we must prove under this type of work permit that no suitable candidate is available in the EU to fill our job posting." Is there any other way of getting a visa or working in london for at least a short time and then prolong my stay there? i'm 21 years old and i'm just about to get my bachelor's degree here in croatia.

thanks

Don't want to sound rude, but NO there is no way unless you have a sponsor willing to take you on.

Sadly, the country is facing the toughest challenges to tackle with immigration at this point in time, and it's unlikely to get any better for new aspirants.
