Got EC

Post by Boom05 » Fri May 20, 2005 6:20 pm

Hi Guys.

I got my EC stamped at Abuja. I sent all the documents on 15th April through the courier after receiving the HSMP approval letter and I was called for interview along with my wife and kid on May 18. The whole process worked smoothly(more like magical), the EC officer was so cooperative asking just few questions, making photocopies for me (can u imagine, i didnt send any photocopy of the documents at all), and even agreeing to postdating the visa till July without much prompting.

The following are the list of original documents submitted by me :

• VAF Form
• Two Passport Size Photographs
• Valid Passport
• HSMP Approval Letter along with all the original I submitted for HSMP (this was requested for via their responce to my earlier email).
• Invitation letter and mortgage doc from my brother in law offering accommodation.
• Statement of account for 6 months.
• Income Tax Returns filed for Financial Year 2004
• Statement of Estimated Expenditure & Funds Available (equivalent to 10k pounds).
• Evidence of Stock and Money Market Investments.
•Family photographs.

Compare to Lagos, i guess the queue in Abuja is shorter and the process less strenous. I am grateful to everyone that has made the journey so far very interesting. Thank you folks !
Its easy to follow the crowd, it takes courage to stand alone !
