Government or international scholarship agency’s unconditional consent.

Post by adlwk » Tue Apr 10, 2018 4:32 pm

Hi,

I am student applying to switch from a Tier 4 to Tier 2 for a job and am in the process of compiling the relevant documents. I am also being sponsored by my local government and have just obtained an unconditional consent letter. However, after reading through this I am unsure with the following statement in my letter of consent

" XXX has given the unconditional consent the permission for him to remain in or re-enter the United Kingdom for the duration of the s programme."

The policy guidance states this;
"The evidence must be original, on the official letter-headed paper or stationery and include
the official stamp of the organisation(s). It must have been issued by an authorised official
of that organisation. If the organisation does not give unconditional consent, or only gives
permission for a limited time
, we will refuse your application."

Does this mean that 'the duration of the programme' indicates that my government has only allowed consent for a limited time?

Yes, based on what you mentioned it seems the permission is only for limited time/Tier 4 visa. You better get a fresh unconditional consent before you apply for Tier 2 to avoid rejection.
My advice is based on personal research/experience, so pls check relevant UKVI sources.
