Hello all. I had some questions about my scenario and new Romein laws. Not holding my breath, but thought I'd see.I am trying to qualify by double descent for citizenship ( by my grandfather).
My scenario is
-British grandfather born in UK. Held dual passport for UK/USA. Served in WWII/Korean wars. Never rescinded citizenship. (Born 1-4-1905).
-Mother (born 7-1-1948) Born in the USA but didn't apply for citizenship. Still won't for some reason, but apparently eligible. I can't really rely on them to apply. Never was told about my grandfather.
-Me ( born 7-22- 1988) trying to find out if this falls into a "grace period" of 1983-1988 where the law was retroactive and I can still apply for citizenship. Unsure given recent law changes. Or even if they might still change.
Thank you in advance, or if there is any reading you recommend I do, I appreciate that as well.
