Graduate level work experience

Post by uae_nri » Sun Sep 10, 2006 7:18 pm

Hi,

What exact documents would be required to get the minimum points for work exp?

- Would a letter from the Employer stating the start date, Position Held and Salary for the current position be ok.

-Copy of the Detailed Job Description. (not possible to get the original)

I have 8+ years of work experience in a large firm but am just claiming 25 points for work exp. (not claiming points for specilaist role though my position is one).

Cheers

Hi,

Photocopies are not acceptable. Not even if they are endorsed as true copies by the employer itself.

As per the caseworkers' guidance notes -

What should the reference include?
Each reference should be on the company’s original letter headed paper.
Letters typed on plain paper are not acceptable (as the source of the reference cannot be established).
It should clearly show: -
• The start date and end dates of each position the applicant held during their employment with that employer. If the reference states a start date and says that the applicant is ‘working to present’ then the caseworker should only calculate the period of time until the date the letter is dated.
• Job Title – This should indicate the post(s) that the applicant has undertaken.
• Full job description – This should be a FULL description of the duties and responsibilities that the applicant undertook whilst in the post. This should give details that will help the caseworker establish the level of the post.
It is important to have the job description for each post held, to make sure what the person is doing, as quite often the same job title can be used for very different duties and responsibilities.

Hope this info. helps.

regards

hi,
in your 8 years experience, how much is your current company experience? I mean if your current company experience is less than 3 years..it means you have 5+ years of experience in previous companies. So you can show the experience letters( showing resp) of previous companies as evidence along with some payslips etc as additional proofs.

in the past earnings section, you can show your current employer payslips, it returns( if you have taxes in uae).. and a letter just showing dates of service and designation will do. This doesnot require to show letter detailing roles and responsibilities

that way you are ok to get points in both sections. My friend had similar problem and got it confirmed from home office through mail.
