Hi there!
Hoping someone has an answered to my question. I am a US green card holder. I am a national of one the Caribbean islands. (not one of the countries with large immigration rates to the UK and a Spanish speaking one).
I am planning to visit the UK for four days only and already made travel arrangements before applying for visa. I travel internationally at least three times a year, I am used to obtaining visas when needed.
The only documents I was required to provide were my passport and green card. Everything else was optional.I included the optional items as they were easily accessible to me (bank statements, employment letter, paystubs, IRS records, prove of student status (part time student)).
I went to take my biometrics in NYC and send documents with passport and green card to the 'processing center) on 1/10/20. I paid for the processing center to scan my documents about $95 extra.
I received an email that the documents were received by UK visa application center on 1/14/20.
today on 1/16/20 (TWO DAYS LATER! I DID NOT PAY FOR PRIORITY SERVICE WHICH IS WHAT IS SCARING ME). I received an email saying the following;
SUBJECT - Your UK visa application has been despatched: GWF XXXXXXXX
Your UK visa application has been concluded by visits UK and will shortly be dispatched.
nothing about not booking travel in the email.
I included a self return UPS envelope in the package I UPSed last friday per their directions. We do not need to go to pick up they will UPS back.
SINCE THIS WAS ALL SO FAST I AM SO SCARED THAT IT WAS DENIED. I TRIED READING EVERYTHING IN THIS FORUM BUT THOSE ARE FROM APPLICANTS IN OTHER PARTS OF THE WORLD WHO MIGHT OVERSTAY THEIR VISA.
My travel history (3 times a year different parts of the world) my job (I make over 60K a year) my current education (I am currently enrolled part time working towards an MBA) ,my not knowing anyone in the UK and my short stay (4 days) should all point to someone with no plans on over staying their visa.
Im I over reacting? Also since americans dont usually need a visa to go to the UK I highly doubt the NYC embassy is overflowing with my kind of application which might explain the quick turn around time?
I just need peace of mind, If I get denied do to my own error I can just apply again but would hate to have to pay another $130 for a silly mistake.
anyone has any experience with this?
