Guidance Needed on Spouse Visa Accommodation Documentation

Post by Adam20 » Mon Nov 11, 2024 9:45 pm

Hi Team,

I’d like to seek your guidance regarding my spouse visa application. I am preparing to apply for my wife’s visa to join me in the UK, and I have all the required documents. However, I have a specific question related to accommodation.

I have arranged a property for us, and I'm preparing to sign the necessary paperwork. However, rather than moving in immediately and bearing the full rental cost before her visa is approved, I intend to provide a letter confirming the property is reserved and allocated for us. This approach allows me to avoid paying rent prematurely, especially if the visa approval process takes longer than expected.

The landlord has provided a tenancy agreement confirmation letter, along with a separate document stating that the property is reserved and will be allocated once the visa is confirmed. The tenancy details include the following information:

**DATE:** To be confirmed, pending visa confirmation. The property is allocated and reserved.

1. TERM OF TENANCY
The tenancy term will be for six months (to be confirmed), beginning on the start date agreed upon once visa confirmation is received.

Could you confirm if this documentation/these points will be acceptable?

Thank you so much.

I personally don't think this is good enough. The requirement is to show where you're living (present tense), not where you could potentially move to (futuristic). What happens when that place is no longer available during the processing period?
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!
