H1B Holder from Canada with URGENT passport problem

I am an H1B holder from Canada. Last year I married an American, and am currently in application for a greencard.

My Canadian passport got stuck in the flood of canadian passport requests when I submitted it for a name change, and now I can't get it back in time to leave the country in a couple of weeks.

I hold British citizenship, and have an up to date British passport. Can I travel on it, even though my H1B status comes from my Canadian citizenship?
