I am applying online for Tier-1 General.. in the online application there is one confusing question.. â€œHave you made an application to the Home Office to remain in the UK in the last 10 years?â€

Application for leave to remain in the UK can only be made from inside the UK. Since you've never been to the UK the answer to this question, for you, is no.

From outside the UK, one applies for leave to enter / entry clearance. From inside UK, one applies for leave to remain in the UK.

Thanks. Makes sense, but I got suspicious becoz ideally in that case there should have been one more question in the online application which would say "Have you ever applied for entry to UK before", but there isn't such question so I thought that they might have combined both questions 'for entry' & 'to remain' but probably you're right.

I am sorry but I do not see any Q 6.3 or 6.4. Actually where I am looking, the questions aren't even numbered in this way. I am filing the online application on visa4uk.fco.gov.uk . Just to make sure, is this the correct link for applying online? Which link are you looking at?
