Heading to Ireland soon.

Hi everyone.I`m a British citizen,living in Brazil with my Brazilian wife and our 2 children who were born in Brazil.
In the next few weeks we will be moving to Ireland,and I would like to know what we will be asked for at Dublin Airport.
From what I can gather,all we need is our passports,marriage certificate,and maybe our kids birth certificates.Is this correct?

yes , they asked me passports ( mine , my wife's and son's), marriage certificate plus some questions it tool us about 30 mins bcz the garda asked me a lot of questions ( i am from morocco thats why i think and my wife is british).

Thanks for the reply,but with my wife being from a non visa required country (Brazil) What can we expect at the airport.What documents will be asked for,and what questions could be asked.Can they ask about finances etc?

The documents you mentioned are sufficient. They are not allowed to refuse entry based on your financial situation. The only valid issue to refuse entry to the family member of an EU citizen is if there are safety concerns.

Note this is only valid for the initial entry and the first 3 months of stay in Ireland. Passed that time she will be required to hold a residence card (application from and conditions/required documents here).

Thanks very much jeupsy.I know we need to get the wedding certificate translated,but what about our kids birth certificates,do they need translated too?

You might want to double-check with someone else to be extra-sure, but as far as I can think of (and assuming your kids are British passport holders), I don't see any reason why you would need a translation of their birth certificates.

Then I'd say it is safer to have their birth certs translated as well.

But in general if you are in a position to get UK passports for them I think it will could make quite a few things easier for you once you are in Ireland.

Yeah,we are planning to get them,but not until we are in Ireland,as from here it takes too long.
