I am applying for visitor visa following recent entry denial. Previously, I lived in the UK for 4 years under the Student and HSMP visa programme. I returned to the US to look for work following being laid off in January and to help my mother with work on her house. My HSMP expired Feb 15, prior to my return. When I returned to the UK, I made a comment about looking for work while staying in the UK. I believe the comment was misunderstood as for me, looking for work is no more then to continue looking on the web as I do every day. The form IS.82A claimed I stated I had asked for leave to enter the UK as a returning work permit holder for 3 years. When showed this form, I informed that I had not said that and my comments had been misconstrued. During interview I had been asked what my ultimate goal was, I stated I would hope to renew my HSMP (Tier 1) for the 3 year period and ultimately gain permanent residency and citizenship as my Grandfather had been a British Citizen. More importantly I made very clear, that I was fully aware that I had to leave to UK within 6 months if I did not have a valid and up to date work visa. I had mentioned my desire only, not my intention.
I have a flat with the lease expiring in May and have no intention of staying in the UK past that point. I will only return to the UK as a visitor unless I have a valid work visa and leave to remain. I have already displayed that I am good resident of the UK having stayed within UK law having followed all requirements for legal stay and employment.
I have several job prospects that I am currently working on in California and Maryland and hope to secure something soon. In the interim, I was going to pack my flat, arrange for shipping, travel to visit the many friends I made while living in the UK. I am fully financially self-sufficient and own a house, car and motorcycle in the USA.
What do I need to do to get my Visitor Visa, as I fill out the visa data honestly, I am afraid they will turn me down based on same information I was denied for once!!! HELP!
