HELP - Loan Letter + Bank Statements ( Maintenance )

Post by goldenfins29 » Tue Oct 05, 2010 12:22 pm

Hi

Unfortunately I cannot prove that I have maintain £1600 for 28 days consecutively as on one day my amount dropped by approximately £200 from paying all my phone bills and utilities bills :( But my father sent some money the next day and it went above £1600

I have read somewhere in the forum that it would be advisable to take up a loan and produce the loan letter instead which only need to be dated no more than six month before the date of the application.

However, I've called UKBA Enquiries today twice. The first time is to confirm the use of the loan letter and appointment issues. The first operator was confused about the fact that the loan letter need only be dated recently and does not fall within the 28 consecutive day rules but after putting me on hold for ages ( probably re-reading the rule over and over again ) , she finally confirmed that I could use the loan letter on top of my bank statements which maintained a fund of at least £1400 from 23rd August until now.

But as I was not entirely sure whether a loan letter could be use to cover my living costs or is it just to cover the fees, I tried calling again and this time , another different operator told me that by taking out a loan and producing a loan letter, it would not help my situation at all. I told him what his colleague has informed me earlier but he kept repeating ' I can't confirm that ' like some trained nasal-sounding parrot! He also added that I cannot use a future obtained loan to cover a past discrepancy in the statement unless the bank backtracks the date of the loan which is unlikely (=.=) His only advice was to read the policy guidance and conform with it.... (dohhh)

So in the end, I am still unsure whether a loan letter would help my situation. Please advise !!!!!!

(I have a feeling my visa will be refused because I have indulged myself with electricity, water, gas and mobile communication. (T.T))

Reading the policy guidance will help.
