help needed for COA

Post by tapash » Thu Mar 18, 2010 11:26 pm

Hi i am a student in uk for last 5 years under Tier 4. I and my EU national fiancee, We are staying together in UK for last 2 years. Now we want to get married. While filling up the COA form in Section 5.8......
5 . 8 If your application for a COA is granted, do you intend to apply for permission to remain in the UK on the basis of your relationship with your partner after getting married or entering into a civil partnership?
If not, please state what you intend to do. Continue on a separate sheet if necessary and enclose it with this form
.....found this question. Now bit confused what to say, YES or NO!! we would like to get married and stay in uk. If i say yes HO may not give permission. So, wondering what will be the best approach. I have visa untill april 2011. Can anyone comment on this please. Thanks.

Hi Tapash!

I was also a student who applied for COA and also only turned 21 in May :) In 2009.
I answered YES. I did intend to stay in the UK after we got married. If you don't intend on doing so say NO. I don't think there is a right or wrong answer but I said YES.

Also you can apply for COA before you are 21 but you can ONLY get married when you are 21. You should be fine!

My COA came back in under a month. Good Luck :)

Thanks Gabriella2305 for your reply. When did you apply for your COA?
