hi there
My name is Hussam,
I came with my wife and children to the UK in 2001 and i applied for asylum..
but i got refused and all the support stopped,
my wife and I got divorced,
as i was visiting my children in feburary 2008, the immigration came to the house and arrested us and put us in a detention,, few days after that we were released.
my ex-wife and family they were released and granted ILR status under the 7 years Child Policy..
but ididnt receive that although i was released the same day..
in around april 2008 my ex-wife's solicitor recieved a letter from the home office stating that they want to sort my immigration matter so the solicitor replied to them as by then he accepted to take my case.
in September 2008 the home office requested my pictures and life in the UK test. as you know to do the test you must be legally in the UK so as i have no documents. i wasnt able to do it..
so the solicitor informed the home office that i am unable to do the test due to my status and lack of documents, so didnt respond to that,
my solicitor sent the photos to the Home office,
since the solicitor sent the photos i havent heard from the home office. and once we contact them they say that the case is awaiting for further consideration, or in a que.
I was wondering if i am entitle to ILR under child policy the same as my ex-wife, due to the period of time i spent it here in the UK, and that i am always in touch with my children,???
Do you know why the home office is taking that time to respond.??
am i entitle to any support or even allow me to work so i can support myself??
please i need any advice or if any one has gone through the same situation would you please share your experience..
thanks a lot
Hussam
