Help NEEDED!!!! Switching From PSW to Tier-2

Hi All,

I am currently on Tier-1 PSW.
Vaild From: 14/04/2010
Valid Until : 14/04/2012

I have been working as a Network Administrator with a Limited company from more than 11 months and currently on £24,000 per year.
I have recenlty approached my employer and detailed my situation.
They have agreed to sponsor for my Tier-2 (General) VISA.
As a part of the process, the company has applied for a sponsor license. They have successfully received the sponsor license with an A-Rating.
They now have a limit of 1 Unrestricted COS to assign.
The company has also agreed to increase my salary to £26,000 from this month so that my job description meets the salary requirement as mentioned in the SOC CODE 3131 (Section J) for the network administrator position.

I know that I am now meeting all the requirements to switch from PSW to Tier-2. Could anyone please suggest me when to apply for Tier-2 (General) VISA?
All I need to do is ask the employer to issue a COS and he will do it right away as it takes only 10 minutes to issue one.
If my employer issues a COS this week. Can I apply for a VISA in the first week of December?

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

I also have one more question.

My wife who is currently with me in the UK will also be applying at the same time as me under PBS Dependent. We are planning to do a postal application soon.

Do we need to send the documents together in the same parcel by POST?

My husband applied for his Tier 2 recently and as a dependant I too applied at the same time . We sent both applications in the same envelope and post.

Can my A-rated employer certify my dependent's maintenance as she did not have the funds necessary.

I know you are trying to help me.
The reason why I posted this is to clarify what I have read in the policy document.

I am not daft enough to ask for guidance without looking for policy documents and guidance forms.
I have also read 319C, 319H and appendix E of the Immigration Rules..
Also been through the pbs guidance form.

Point 91 in the PBS dependent guidance states what I was looking for.

However, the reason why I posted is to check if this applies to in-country extension of Tier-2 for main applicant or the main applicant switching from PSW to Tier-2. This has not been specified anywhere.

Forums are here to help the people. Well, if you think that a simple answer like "Reading the policy guidances will help." fixes the issue. People would stop using forums.

Apologies if I was being rude here. Just wanted to tell how I feel seeing your answer in many forum topics. If you want to be an active member, please post something that will help the people.

I wanted an answer from someone who has been through my situation. All I wanted is a clarification. If you do not know the answer, please do not post such replies.
