HELP ME - Overstayer in an akward situation...What do I do??

Post by lost_hope7 » Sat Jan 27, 2007 11:11 am

Hi all,

I'll try to only provide relevant information. I've come over originally on a fiance visa in November 2002. Before that ran out I have married and sucessfully applied for a FLR. Well that FLR expired in March 2005, and instead of applying for the ILR I took the advice of work collegues who said I should be alright since I was married and in a secure job. (You see I was not able to financially afford the fees...) Well this secure job has axed me a week ago (after nearly 3 years of service) and while trying to find employment I had an interview which was going really well...until I handed my passport to be photocopied. She came back and said that they could go no further and said that any respectable business would not employee me without the renewal of my visa (in this case ILR)...

OK the problem is I CANNOT afford the £335 fee and I have a mortgage, bills, plus I've racked up alot of unpaid debt as well so I'm beside myself as to what the next course of action should be. I'm afraid to approach anyone face to face reguarding the matter because I don't know how serious this is and what the repercussions might be. My inlaws cannot help me, and my father said he will do anything to try and help and said that he may have to pull out a loan to be able to send me money to pay for this. Can I apply for it now in the UK? Will they try to seperate my husband and I?

Please someone give me some sign of hope because I am so depressed and worried over our situation and feel like there's no way forward.

I can't see any option other than paying the fee and taking the consquences.

What about ur husband? Is he working? Surely he has some repsonsibilty WRT the fees...
