Help regarding evidence for savings.

Hello all,

My wife is a British national, I work and she doesn't.

I intend to apply for a spouse settlement visa so that I can join my wife in the UK.

I have sufficient funds to show for the both of us.

However, my wife will also be receiving a small sum of inheritance money, God willing, and she thought it would be a good idea to include that as well.

What will she need to submit as evidence with my visa application?

She can provide a bank statement, but will that alone be sufficient?

Your work will obviously end when you leave to settle in the UK. You can however include your savings in the application together with the inheritance your wife will have.
If your wife's bank statement is the only evidence of her finances then she should submit this.
The Entry Officer will make a decision based on how long your joint savings will last.
You will also need to include proof of a genuine relationship and that you will have adequate accommodation in the UK.
You haven't said where you will be making the application but assuming you're not from one of the countries on the UKBA exempt list you will also have to comply with the new A1 English test before submitting the application.
I'm assuming you're both over the age of 21.
