Help! Should I get a new passport?

I was denied a UK spouse visa and they put a red stamp in my passport and now I want to go to Spain to meet my husband and exercise the Freedom of Movement Act. I was denied because my husband had only worked for 6 months instead of the 12 months asked for self employed people. We want to go to Spain and exercise the Freedom of Movement Act, but should I get a new passport first? Is visa information shared between the UK and the EU electronically? Ive read mixed things online. Does anyone know the facts about it? Thanks!
