help! skeptical applicant for flr

I am a North American citizen, applying for FLR(M) on February 02. We are getting married on February 01, and I live a couple of blocks from the Lunar House, so I thought I'd get it out of the way. First of all, I came over on a fiance visa. Hopefully that's a good start because I have already obviously been screened once. However, there are a few things about my application for flr that have me a little uneasy. My DH's salary (net is what they ask for) is £1,300 a month (net). He has his bank account, no real savings, but only a couple of overdraws. I opened a joint account with him, and put £4,100 into the account. I only have a certified copy from the bank of my statement, as I have just opened it. The only other statement that I have is my one from the States, before I transferred the money over. Will his income and my savings suffice? I've read on this forum a few people getting turned down with similar salaries. Help

It should be enough. I applied for FLR(M) last summer and my partner and I had similar income to yours (although I also had about GBP5,000 in investments). Everything went fine.

Really, unless you expect your income situation to improve soon, you don't have much of a choice regarding what you apply with. Just send EVERYTHING you have, even your American bank statements; that'll be better than not sending enough!

You might also consider sending a letter explaining that you will be looking for work as soon as FLR(M) is approved, what types of jobs you'll look for, etc. Show them that you're trying to improve your income (without actually saying, "I know we don't have much, but...").
