Hi I hope someone can help...
I'll try to be as clear as possible...
My Aunt, Uncle and Cousin have come to the UK from America. My Aunt is a British Citizen but has been living in California with her husband for the past 17 years, they have been married for 16 years and have a 14 year old son.
The had big problems in America and were made homeless and so have come to stay with my grandparents (my Aunt's mum and dad) they want to look into staying here permanently but none of us have a clue what to do or what support they can get / are entitled to.
My grandparents are pensioners so don't have a great deal of money and they have arrived in the uk with $300. They used the last of their savings for their tickets.
My Aunt is 51, my uncle is 61 and my cousin is 14.
My aunt has a birtish passport and my uncle and cousin have american passports.
My aunt wants to look for a job but until she gets one will she be entitled to job seekers allowance etc
Also are my uncle and cousin able to utilise the NHS if necessary without charge?
Also would my uncle have to apply for indefinate leave to remain and my cousin apply for dual citizenship before they could apply for benefits as a couple or for child benefit?
Thanks in advance for any advice offered.
