Help - Tier 4 Proof of parents relationship

Post by alsaeede2 » Wed Nov 30, 2011 11:59 pm

Hi,

I just saw now that for Tier 4 the embassy requires either a birth certificate or a court document proving relationship to my father who is going to sponsor me from his own funds.

I am about to apply tomorrow and if I dont will incure strong delays. Is this a strong requirement. Alternatively can I get a different government agency like an Embassy to write a letter mentioning the relationship or does it have to be a court document or a birth certificate as I dont have one.

A BC proves paternity but different countries have different standards with regard to official instruments. If your govt. issues official instruments that will stand in lieu of a BC, and that is normal and legal, then this will be okay with the UKBA. What you can't do is create your own standards and submit ad hoc paperwork or letters (from a consulate or otherwise) that is not officially recognised for the purpose intended.
