help with form VAF4A

Hi- am helping my partner fill in this form and also a separate form for his 3 year old child. It is slightly complicated as they are applying to come together and it seems like I am my partner's sponsor but he is the child's sponsor!!

1. Do we fill in all sections except for section 8.4 which they say is not for dependents. I see that we fill in question 5 as if it was the parent but is section 4 filled in as child? (the second part of it seems irrelevant!).

2. Can you confirm for me that, as it says on form in section 8.2, the childs sponsor is her father who is applying with her and not me? (The lawyer who gave me some voluntary help said the sponsor was me but this is not what they say on the form). Section 8.7 seems incredible detailed as partner self employed and questions re his income and employment not relevant as he is leaving the country to come to UK.

3. We have to put the day they want to travel on the form. If visa is granted, is this the only day they can fly or can they fly anytime from this date onwards. it is not clear.
