Hideous

First of all the UK VISA fee for spouse visa from india has been increased by 50 pounds
And secondly, with this new BRP rule, they are stamping the visa for 1 month expecting the applicant to travel in that valid month and collect BRP In UK.
I spoke to vfs global and asked that my spouse dont intend to travel till 20 December 2015 and i am applying her spouse visa in September 1st week. What if the visa is processed before before 19 nov and she is unable to travel earlier, they said the applicant needs to reapply the visa and pay the full fee again !!!! How fair is that???? If the processing time of the application was consistent, and they had a set period in making a decision instead of processing some in 21 days some in 35 some in 60 days and some more, i wouldnt be in this position. I was applying 3 months in advance and assume the worst that it could take that much time and then she can travel after that.
Rant over but the process is just hideous.

This 1 month to collect the BRP procedure makes no sense to me whatsoever and your situation is a clear example of why. It would make more sense to activate this when the person arrives at border control.

they also said that the "date intended to travel" bears no importance whatsoever on the stamping of the visa as they will process as and when they get around to your case. So what is the point of having this question? I thought they could use the info and future date the stamping of the visa...
pointless....
and why would they want the applicant to re-apply for the visa and pay the £990 fee for application AGAIN when it was already issued before??? i thought they could take a small charge when a request is made to future date the visa.
i am not happy and will contact the UKBA today.

@HarryC - I wrote a letter with my visa application in October 2008 and asked for it to be issued and dated for 27 December 2008 as that was the date I was traveling and I provided a provisional flight booking with the letter.

My visa was post dated and I left my home country on the start date of my visa.
