How to check visa application status

Hi all,
Does anybody has idea how should I find status of my wife's visa application over 5 months now ? applied on 26th Jan 14 at Lahore but no response yet?
Even the website which was suppose to reveal the status is down

What are the options for me now?
Should we try to find a contact to Islamabad High commissions or should I contact someone here in the UK and how?
