How do I find out the status of my ILR application?

I've looked in the FAQs and can't find an answer to this, but apologies in advance if it's already been answered.

How do I find out the status of my ILR application?

It's been in for three months, and I've heard nothing (no confirmation receipt, no email of consideration - nothing). How do I know it's even in the system being processed?

They wont speak to you via phone until 6 months has passed.
